Christopher Hoot studied art and design (and psychology) at Indiana University (B.A.) and minored in printmaking. After working in Miami, Florida, he attended the Yale School of Art MFA program in graphic design where he also studied drawing, printmaking, and sculpture.

 

He teaches art and design at the Myers School of Art at the

University of Akron and is currently Coordinator 

of Foundations 2D Design and teaches all levels of design.

 

His current creative research combines visual music and architectonics with marbling techniques, producing multiple layered abstract realms including landscapes, cityscapes 

and soundscapes on paper, canvas and a variety of materials.
